Royal Portrush Golf Club

Ranking amongst the world’s greatest courses (No. 12 in the world by Golf Magazine), the Dunluce Links at Royal Portrush Golf Club is a masterpiece of golf course architecture and is the only course in Ireland to have hosted the Open Championship. Unimaginable rough and testing greens, combined with unpredictable weather make this course an admirable challenge for even the most seasoned golfers. Since its formation in 1888, more than 50 national championships – British and Irish – have been decided at Royal Portrush. Many famous players have taken on these links at one stage or another: Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Arnold Palmer, Tom Watson, Ernie Els, Phil Mickelson, Tom Kite and Larry Mize to name a few.

Things to note: Will play the Dunluce Course; limited golf carts (10 pounds; pull-cart: 4 pounds); rental clubs (25-35 pounds); dining room with snack menu; practice facilities (putting, chipping, driving); pro shop.

Attire: Golf attire; hard and soft spikes permitted.

Royal Portstewart Golf Club

Located in northern Ireland near Belfast, Portstewart Golf Course was founded in 1894 and offers stunning courses set on Ulster’s spectacularly famous Causeway Coast. After purchasing a large sum of land in 1981, the Portstewart Golf Club boats about their new addition of 7 holes that travel through towering dunes and over natural links of land. Take a swing at one of their 54 total golf holes, each with a different spectacular view for every golfer. Portstewart has hosted both amateur and professional golf championships, such as the Amateur Championship and The British Girls Championships.

Things to note: Will play on The Strand Course; no golf carts (electric trolley: 10 pounds); rental clubs (25 pounds); dining room and bar; pro shop; locker room.

Attire: Golf attire, hard and soft spikes permitted

Royal County Down

Located in one of the world’s most naturally beautiful links settings – the Murlough Nature Reserve – Royal County Down offers a true test of any player’s command of traditional links courses. Against a backdrop of the magnificent Mountains of Mourne, the links stretch along the shores of Dundrum Bay and zigzag back and forth across the land. Since being founded in 1889, Royal County Down has played host to many wonderful championships. A number of the world’s greatest golfers also have played the course as preparation for the Open Championship – or just for sheer enjoyment.

Things to note: Will play the Championship Links; no golf carts (electric trolley: 15 pounds; pull-cart: 4 pounds); rental clubs (35 pounds); dining room and bar; practice putting green; caddy rental (25-70 pounds); pro shop; locker room.
