The following excursion is included in this tour package.
Fortunately, you will have a full day to tour perhaps the wildest and most romantic region of Ireland. Small villages where Gaelic is still the spoken language dot the landscape of Connemara along with lakes, rivers, bogs and mountains. Choose a visit between the grand estate of Kylemore Abbey or the Island of Inis Mor in the Aran Islands
Option 1: A visit to Kylemore Abbey reveals tales of tragedy and romance, engineering initiatives, royal visits, spirituality and education. Built in 1867 and home to Ireland’s only Benedictine community of nuns since 1920, this 1,000-acre estate has much to offer. Explore the magical six-acre walled garden boasting exclusively Victorian flowers and vegetables. Relax and enjoy breath-taking views of Connemara National Park at the teahouse by the walled garden.
Option 2: Visit Inis Mor, the biggest of the 3 Aran Islands. Lying in a North – Westerly direction across Galway Bay, Inis Mór is approximately 12km in length and 3km in width. It’s principle port and village is Kilronan ( Cill Rónáin ) and it is here that most visitors are first introduced to the island. The sailing time to Inis Mór is 40 minutes. While on the island, you will enjoy a minibus tour with a stop at Dun Aenghus. Perched spectacularly on a cliff overlooking the Atlantic ocean, this is the largest of the prehistoric stone forts of the Aran Islands. It is enclosed by three massive dry-stone walls and a “chevaux-de-frise” consisting of tall blocks of limestone set vertically into the ground to deter attackers.
Burren Region & Cliffs of Moher
Situated on the Atlantic Ocean and bordering the Burren Area, the Cliffs of Moher stand nearly 230 meters above ground at their highest point and are one of Ireland’s most spectacular sights. On a clear day, the Aran Islands are visible in Galway Bay as well as the valleys and hills of Connemara. The Burren (meaning “large stones”) is a strange and unique region. Often described as lunar, the Burren is a high plateau of porous limestone situated in Northern Clare between Ballyvaughan and Kilfenora. Although no trees grow here, no land is covering the stone and the limestone is bare, the Burren is not as deserted as we believe. The cracks allow different types of flowers to grow all year round.
Tullamore Dew Heritage Centre
Situated right in the heart of Ireland, there is an special experience that has been waiting for you since 1829. The newly renovated home of Tullamore D.E.W. Irish Whiskey allows you to immerse yourself in the history and magic that lies inside the walls of this 19th century bonded warehouse, where its whiskey making tradition began. Enjoy a guided tour which blends audiovisual and traditional storytelling and then raise a glass of complimentary Tullamore D.E.W. Irish Whiskey. The new Visitor Centre is located on the banks of the Grand Canal which was vital in allowing the former distillery to transport whiskey to Dublin for distribution around the rest of the world.
Dublin City Pass & Hop-on Hop-off Ticket
Day at leisure in Dublin City, however your package does include a Hop on Hop off ticket and also a 1- Day Dublin Pass!
The Hop-on Hop-off Bus Tour allows you experience all the history and culture of Dublin in one visit. You can visit Dublin Zoo, the Guinness Storehouse, the Book of Kells in Trinity College and much more. The second route is through Dublin’s Docklands, and takes 35 minutes with 8 stops including The Jeanie Johnston Famine Memorial ship. You can also hop-off at Stop 7 to take a Dublin Bay Cruise to either Howth or Dún Laoghaire. Buses start at 9am daily, and arrive at each stop every 10-15 minutes.
